Welcome to the Foundation Course in Retail Excellence

This foundation course includes topics ranging from Customer Service, to Selling Skills, to Teamwork, to Visual Merchandising, as well as Stock Management. Previous experience or prior qualifications are not required for entry. Units are delivered via eLearning and on-the-job structured learning over a 12 to 18 month period. The eLearning content is inclusive of Learning Objectives, Learner Activities, Quizzes, Formative Tests and Personal Action Planning to reinforce learning. On the job learning is structured using learner logs and supported by a Subject Matter Expert.

Learners will be required to successfully complete a number of Learner Activities. In demonstrating the necessary knowledge, understanding, and competence, successful learners will achieve a Foundation in Retail Excellence endorsed by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM)

The purpose of this Unit is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of the retail selling process.  It focusses on the techniques used for identifying and meeting the needs of customers in retail businesses.
